L’edizione 2019 del Concerto del Mercoledì delle Ceneri organizzato dalla Fondazione Levi è dedicato alla musica di Andrea Gabrieli e alle sue Sacrae Cantiones una raccolta di mottetti che deve essere considerata una delle più importanti testimonianze dell’arte di Gabrieli. A questi mottetti saranno affiancati quelli di autori contemporanei, per dare qualche esempio di come i compositori più rappresentativi dell’epoca di Gabrieli affrontarono tematiche affini.

Il concerto è oranizzato in collaborazione con Fondazione Teatro La Fenice, Conservatorio di musica “Benedetto Marcello” e Chorus-Associazione per le Chiese del Patriarcato di Venezia.
